The Community Lab – teacher familiarisation sessions
Do you think your students would benefit from the experience of working in a fully-equipped lab, offering industrial-standard equipment?
Would they enjoy, and perhaps by inspired by, working with real scientists that work at Discovery Park?
All these facilities are on offer for FREE at Community Lab.
Community Lab provides:
– Practical sessions that are relevant to the curriculum.
– Opportunities for students to do their own research and project work.
– CPD opportunities for teachers and technicians.
All you must do is attend Teacher Familiarisation sessions at Discovery Park (Sandwich, CT13 9FF). To help with teachers’ busy timetables, we have two options on offer:
– A full-day workshop, Wednesday 20th November 2019 9am – 3pm
If you would like to attend the full-day workshop, follow the link: https://bit.ly/328ByAu
OR
– Two twilight sessions, where you would attend BOTH sessions, Wednesday 27th November and Wednesday 4th December, 4pm – 7pm
If you would like to attend the TWO twilights, follow the link: https://bit.ly/2JEYC3y
*Teachers need to attend a workshop before booking to bring students to the lab. You will go through the experiment protocols, risk assessments and be shown how to use the equipment with facilitators. Community Lab Facilitators will be present on the day of school visits to help and advise, but teachers are expected to run their booked sessions.
If you have any other enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact communitylab@canterbury.ac.uk
