Turner Contemporary will be the home of our fabulous deckchairs from Saturday 29 June 2019 and this is where we were on Friday for the ‘finishing workshop’. Students who have taken part in the collaborative art project were given tours of ‘Seaside Photographed’ and got to know the Gallery whilst finishing their bespoke deckchair sling and fitting to the frame. The students got to see each other’s finished deckchairs and pair with a student from another school to write a label for their deckchair and find out about the inspiration for their partners creation.
The deckchairs look spectacular and represent the student’s hard work, creative skill, lots of learning, new skills, collaboration and the brilliance of our artist in residence – Esther Miles.
