POW! Thanet – Documentary Making Workshop

This amazing opportunity for female students age 16 – 25 from each partner school and CCCU was part of the programme run by POW! Thanet.

A two-day documentary-making workshop run by experienced broadcasting Producer/Director Lila Allen saw students introduced to the theory of news storytelling and the practice of film making. Focusing on how the cultural scene in the UK sees journalistic stories told that reflect the world we live in, the students had an immersive, invaluable introduction to the basics of theoretical and practical broadcast journalism. Their films were then shown at the POW! Thanet festival and we are sure the experience will certainly inspire future careers. As one student attending said  it was a “great opportunity to do things I’d never done before.” and very much fitting in to the EKST aims another said “It’s been about connections and collaboration with people coming together.”.
