Date:
Tuesday 12 November
Location:
Kent College

INSET training for EKST schools on compassionate values & youth social action facilitated by Global Action Plan

What’s involved in the session?

  • The INSET session will be delivered in person in your school setting by Global Action Plan. Global Action Plan is an environmental charity working towards a green and thriving planet, where everyone can enjoy happy and healthy lives within the Earth’s limits.
  • The session will be 1-2 hours long (adapted to meet your school’s needs and availability).
  • The focus will be on nurturing compassionate values, helping teachers explore where this is already happening in their practice and new opportunities they could introduce. We will explore those values we, as educators, wish to activate and reinforce in young people.
  • We will highlight inspiring examples of projects young people have carried out in schools in Kent, to seed ideas for your own school.
  • This INSET could complement other action your school is taking (such as working on a Climate Action Plan, Sustainability Strategy, National Education Nature Park, or the KCC greener schools programme) by engaging and motivating staff (and subsequently their pupils) to be fully engaged.
  • As a follow-up, we ask participants to provide feedback on a project they have carried out with their class which has either been inspired by the training or has embedded learning from the session.

Many thanks to Kent College for hosting. We can currently offer 10 spaces to staff from other EKST partner schools- first come basis. If additional spaces become available, this will be updated with everyone asap.
