East Kent Schools Together is delighted to confirm that the University of Kent is the second university partner- alongside Canterbury Christ Church University- to join the education partnership. This takes the network up to 13 organisations with the universities plus 11 secondary schools both state and independent collaborating.
David Elliott, current Chair of the EKST Heads’ Group and Head of Archbishop’s School Canterbury said: “EKST is delighted to have the University of Kent joining the
partnership. We are very much looking forward to the university working within the
existing team to raise aspirations through collaboration with students from different
backgrounds and experiences. In conjunction with our existing university partner, Canterbury Christ Church University, the University of Kent will be collaborating within the group bringing enriched opportunities for all.”
Clare Allison, Head of Outreach and Widening Participation at University of Kent commented: “The EKST model is a really exciting one, and an excellent example of the commitment in the region to share best practice, opportunities and expertise for the benefit of learners in our region. The University of Kent is deeply committed to widening access, recognising the transformational power of education and working in partnership with EKST will support this mission.”
We look forward to working with colleagues across the University of Kent to ensure opportunities for all students and staff across the partnership are maximised as much as possible!
