We are very proud of our ‘Big Sing’ partnership choir. Prior to Covid students from our partnership schools would meet termly to sing together.
This impactful initiative boosted wellbeing, built confidence, broke down boundaries and widened horizons. During lockdown we have run Big Sing sessions online that have been really successful. We needed funds to scale up our intermittent online offer and run a weekly club that students can attend from home (singing in groups is unlikely to be permitted until September) so that we can continue to offer this initiative that positively impacts on wellbeing.
We are so delighted to have been recognised for our work in combating isolation, improving wellbeing, building confidence and widening horizons by Canterbury City Council as they agreed to fund this project from their RISE Wellbeing Grant funding.
We look forward to reporting on the impact and developing our programme.
